FULL SPEED AHEAD!

Thank you Lee County for granting us the permit! And thank you Derrick Stearns for his relentess time and effort. We look forward to watching you rip a hole thru our wall!

Hopefully the addition (informerly known as Cafe Disco) will be up and running by Thanksgiving. Timeframe not definite yet....will keep everyone up to date!

Hip hip hooray!

Day...ummmm....??

Well, lessons learned. First, always remember that we are on island time. Also, nothing happens fast when you have to deal with county permits. and county rules. and county inspections.

However, the ball has started moving again. I wouldn't really say rolling, as it seems to be on a flat surface and not really gaining any momentum - yet. This upcoming week should tilt the floor and we hope this figurative ball will roll downhill fast, hoping making its way to the bottom by the end of the month.

Spoke with Frank and Doreen Schooley (Tropical Kitchens) - they are supplying the new furniture (D'eco Funiture) for the new, improved, bigger and better deli. Tables, chairs, coffee table and bookshelves made from 100% recycled material. Frank's own creation. Very very very cool.

Postivie thinking will take us far! More to come....

Day 7

Taking a break today. The new floor has been ordered and picked up. Was going to put the floor down first, but some rethinking by Mike and Chris has led to the idea that the hole in the wall should come first. ETA of the hole in the wall? Don't have one. The sooner the better, but you can't rush greatness.

Day 4

Mike was nice enough today to come in and prep the floor for the new flooring! Taking out staples from the old carpet, grinding down bumps and such. Don't ask me too many details - I'm just a girl! Tomorrow we pick up the vinyl flooring, Saturday and Sunday we lay it down.

Day 3

Yesterday Jim (Nauticle Mile) spent the day taking out the trim, numbering it and prepping the room for paint. Today, the great people at the Pine Island Community Church will come in and paint. Uncle Sweaty is already here starting on the paint.

Next stop: the floor!

Game on!

Project Make My Small Deli Bigger is officially in action! Today we made the giant leap of signing the lease for the space next door! With the help of Jim (Nautical Mile), we tore out the carpet. Tomorrow, we prep for painting. Can anyone say Mango Madness?
